The Post Office branch in South Street, Bishop’s Stortford will move premises next month.
The current store at number 102 will close at 5.30pm on September 27, with the new store across the road at 75a opening at 9am on September 28.
It follows a public consultation held by the Post Office earlier this year.
Roger Gale, Post Office sales and trade marketing director, said that the change will help to ensure the branch is “commercially viable” and protect Post Office services in Bishop’s Stortford.

“We are making sure we take the right action to sustain services for years to come,” he said.
The refurbished new premises will open for longer on Saturday afternoons and be operated by Bishops Stortford Ltd.
In addition, the same Post Office services will be available, with planning permission and a survey being carried out to install a cash machine.
